Old North Farm Partnership

Brought together by our shared passion for feeding our community, we partner with Old North Farm to grow our own plot with the expert guidance of farmer Jamie Swofford.

We work with volunteers to grow staple crops that we need for our free markets that are in high demand, such as greens, onions, and carrots.

We designed this project to help us keep up with the rapid growth of our markets and to help us build capacity to feed more people as a very new, very fast growing project. Because of this plot, we have been able to distribute over 4,000 lbs of nutritious produce in our first year, while spending only $0.93 per pound.

This partnership is an experiment in NGO and farmer collaboration, and we are working together build a mutually beneficial relationship that can be replicated to build a more just, resilient, and equitable food system.
